# Why is my connection slow?

Several factors can impact proxy connection speeds:

* **Local internet stability:** An unstable or slow local internet connection will directly affect proxy performance.
* **Geographical distance:** Connecting to a proxy far from your physical location can cause latency. For example, using a US-based proxy while located in Asia might be slower.
* **Server load:** Although Swiftproxy maintains a large IP pool, peak usage periods may temporarily affect speeds.
* **Software configuration:** Incorrect proxy settings or incompatible software can reduce speed.
